Dreams are meant for sleeping - Del 139

We met Louis, Liam and Niall on the way as they also ran to the panicing Vivi. She waved startled with her hands and Niall had to grab her by the shoulders to make her stop and calm down so she could tell us what had made her so jumpy. She took a few deep breaths and opened her mouth.

”Emma’s being attacked by the paparazzi!”

”Inside the apartment complex?!” I yelled and made my way through to the window Vivi was pointing at. She was right. I saw the top of Emma’s brown hair, but it was completely impossible to distinguish her face. Her arms were thrown up in a block and the camera flashes made her skin turn white as cotton. While mine was turning red from anger.

”What the hell!” I swore and fiddeled to get the darn window open so I could shout at the guy to go burn. I was shaking so it was hard to get the hitch of.

”HEY!” I screamed so loud I might come up with a sore throat tomorrow. Like I cared. The boy was taken by surprise and automatically stopped what he was doing and turned his head to see where the screaming came from. Suddenly he stumbled to the side, hit the brick wall and lost concentration on what was happening. Emma had taken the chance and pushed him to the side to make her way out of the narrow passage. She flew past him and ran so fast she looked like a blurr. The guy seemed like he was about to regain his focus.

”Harry!” She yelled terrified as she ran towards the entrance to our building.

”Run all you can I’m coming down!” I responded and left the window before she had time to answer. The lads and Vivi looked after me as I left the window with racer speed. I tugged the door open and it slammed against the wall with a smash because I was in such a rush I didn’t control my actions. I ran as fast as I possibly could, taking four steps at the time as I skipped down the never ending stairwell. The pastel blue walls just flew before my eyes. I was scared half to death. What if the camera guy had got back up on his feet and caught up with her. Longer than that I didn’t have time to think before I was about to turn around the corner and run down the last stairs when a small creature threw herself in my arms, hysterically crying. For being such a tiny person she almost knocked me over at the speed she had been running in.

”Is he gone Harry? Is he gone?” Emma sobbed into my chest. I wrapped my arms around her and held her as tight as I could. I think a hefty embrace was what she really needed right now. I prayed she was still able to breathe though. Her tears soaked through my shirt.

”Yes. He’s gone.” I comforted. I wasn’t 100 percent sure but pretty certain he wouldn’t want to hang around nearby anymore after tonight. If I catch as much as a glimpse of him stepping his feet here again his face will get a nice re-arrangement, where his nose would end up in his forehead.

”Can you see him? Is he still there?” She asked again. Surprised I raised my eyebrows. She must be in such a chock she couldn’t even hear me. Her ablility to listen had shut down completely. So I didn’t answer in words, I just gently stroked her hair and gave her soft kisses on the top of her head. I tried leading her up the stairs back to the apartment, still holding her around the shoulders. But her feet were frozen to the floor and wouldn’t lift. Not even half an inch. Almost as someone had glued them to the surface. I loosened my grip around her and slowly she looked up at me with tearfilled eyes, wondering why I had let her go. For a brief second she thought I was going to leave her here. I acted fast before I started to lose her trust. Instead I took a new grip, this time under her shoulders and bent down. In a sweep I lifted her up in my arms and started carrying her back up. She leaned her tired head on me and closed her eyes, and I think she fell asleep right there. Her eyelides fluttered anxiously and she was only lightly sleeping. I took it careful on the way so she wouldn’t wake up again. She had been through a lot tonight. Especially as she had been attacked by the paparazzi, the thing she hated the most. She had told me it was cockroaches but pfft, I had witnessed her experience both and her reaction to the stubborn cameras were way worse. It took me some time to get back to the flat but only because I was so cautious. I stopped at the door and let out a loud sigh. Both my arms and hands were busy, so how was I supposed to open the door? Wow I did not think this through.

”Hello?” I whispered quietly to not wake Emma up. Of course no one heard me. I made an effort to knock on the door with my forehead. Then I remembered I could use my feet. I kicked softly but hopefully loud enough to make the lads inside realize I was waiting to be let in.
