Dreams are meant for sleeping - Del 65
I nodded and left. I jogged up to the street. It was laying in shadows as none the street lights seemed to function. Wow they really need to fix those streetlights. Suddenly I saw a familiar man walking along the pepplecovered road.
I squinted, trying to figure out where I had seen him before. But the boose gave my brain a hard time placing him. He stopped a short girl from walking right into a lamppost. I moved a little closer to getter a better look at his face. Hidden in the bushes, I lightly move my feet over the ground so I wouldn’t get caught. As I moved, I saw the man getting a little heated up and with a snatch he grabbed the girl’s wrist. She tried to get loose from his grip, but I could tell he was so much stronger. This worried me, was he some kind of villain? If it got any further I had to do something. My heart was racing. 20 feet more I would be standing in line with the man and the girl, but still hidden in the bushes. I could see the man’s face pretty clear now. Then it hit me. That’s the man who had lend me his phone! The same man I thought I saw outside the hotel that night Emma found me! Maybe I wasn’t delusional. But why is he holding that girl against her will? The man pulled the girl towards himself in a strong grip and she screamed. I recognized that voice. Oh my God is that... Like frozen I watched the man drag the girl along the street, when I saw her face. At a racing speed I jumped out of my hiding place. Branches scracthed small but stinging cuts into my arms and legs. I ran towards the man and the girl.
”HEY!”
The man turned around and his eyes went from normal to wide open in a split second. He clearly recognized me. Before he got the chance to prepare at all I aimed a punch at his face. I hit him right in the eye, and he loosened his grip around Emma. With quick reflexes I pulled her away from him, and placed her behind me. The adrenalin was pumping in every vein of my body. I raised my fist and made a second shot at the other eye. But this time the man had time to react. He stopped my hand halfway and made a move himself. He hit the right side of my head and I sunk down to the ground. Flashbacks raced before my eyes, but I didn’t have time to think about them any closer, as I noticed he was ready to give me a hard kick in the side. I crawled backwards in a fast motion. He missed with millimetres only. He got irritated and gave it another shot. I jumped back again and he missed this time too. I got up on my feet, as I saw his hand rapidly coming towards my face area. I closed my eyes, waiting for the smack down. But several seconds passed and I didn’t feel squished. I opened my eyes. Emma was hanging on the man’s back, stopping him from beating me down. Her distraction let me punch him in his stomach. He sunk to the ground and stayed there. Emma ran over to me and gave me a tight hug.
”Thank you Harry...” She sobbed into my shoulder.
”It’s okay Emma. It’s okay...”
I held her close, desperatly trying to make her feel safe. I stroke her hair. Her beautiful, long, brown hair. Slowly the sobs died out.
”Lets go back to the beach, find the others.”
Emma nodded and I held her close to me over her sholders. Side by side we walked back.
”Emma!”
Liam came sprinting towards us. I let her go so Liam could hug her properly.
”What happened are you okay?” Liam sounded worried and daddy-like. Emma opened her mouth to answer, but no words came out. Her eyes began to tear up again.
”I’m so sorry Emma I didn’t mean to...” Liam apologized guiltily, even though he had no idea what for.
”Can you tell the lads Emma and I went back to the hotel? I think she needs to rest. I’ll explain when you get back okay?”
Carefully I removed her make up. She had mascara all around her eyes. I led her back into the main room and gently layed her down in the bed.
”Harry...” She whispered.
”Yes love?”
She weakly patted the empty space next to her, as a sign of that she wanted me to lay beside her. Of course I did as she wished. I moved as close as could and wrapped my arms around her from behind, so we were spooning. I think Emma had already fallen asleep, because I could hear her breathing had got heavier. I put my face in her hair and the next thing I know, I’m asleep as well.
